Ginger Snaps
If you are looking for a great Halloween movie this week end, check out Ginger Snaps. This Canadian horror film was made in 2000 and stars Emily Perkins and Katherine Isabelle who play sisters obsessed with death. This film is way underrated and it won a bunch of awards. But not the movie poster, that should win, "You Need To Do The Poster Again Because It Sucks" Award. This movie is so worth seeing just for the first 5 minutes! It really is a damn great movie! Their mother, played by Mimi Rogers, is hilarious in her attempts to be "cool" and "in touch" with her teen daughters. And yes, the first five minutes are sheer genius. The edgy re-imagining of the traditional lycanthrope horror is beautifully done. Very modern and grrl-power. Emily Perkins and Katherine Isabelle play well off each other and really need to be in more movies. Why on earth isn't Katherine Isabelle a major star instead of, say, Hilary Duff? Anyway, I love it Ginger Snaps. You should all see it. Kimdianna is right.
